privacy policy

Keyboard Warrior ("the game", "we", "us") is a free two-player browser game. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Information we collect
On the standalone website, you choose a display name that is sent to the game server for your current room. When you play inside Discord, the Discord Activity SDK provides the game with your Discord user ID, username, and avatar. We use this information to run your game session. We do not collect your email address, real name, or payment details.
Data retention and browser storage
The server keeps game state in memory while a room exists. We keep no database of players, matches, or scores.
On the standalone website, your browser stores your display name and sound preference in local storage so they remain available on later visits. During a game, session storage holds your room role, temporary lobby timing, and a per-room seat secret used for reconnecting. Session storage lasts for the browser session. You can remove these values at any time by clearing this site's browser data.
Analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Umami for basic, privacy-friendly analytics. It collects aggregate, anonymous information such as page views and general gameplay statistics, and is not linked to your Discord identity or any other personal information. Umami does not use cookies and does not track you across other websites.
Information sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. The game uses no advertising or cross-site tracking.
Children's privacy
The game is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material updates will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
